about

Brothers and Sisters,

It’s been nine months to the day since Jimmy Wiedner went away and about three since I last wrote. Jimmy’s family had an incredible celebration of his life a little bit back in Northern Michigan, and y’all would have been proud. The Brothers and Sisters Benefit has raised just shy of $700 ($680.98 for those keeping score) for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago, and I’m looking to wrap this up with a few things from the vaults. You’ve been immensely supportive, and I can’t thank you enough. The nice thing is that the donations have still been coming in, and even had a little uptick in the last two weeks. Thank you. I’ll be sending a check to the Foundation this weekend, and wanted to give you all a chance to listen, download and donate before that time comes. There will be a couple more special releases this week, and you may still donate afterwards if you wish, but I’d suggest you do that straight through the Foundation. As always, there is the full archive available on the bandcamp page, and we have some plans to migrate it over to a website as time permits.

Today’s release features Jimmy’s amazing cousin, and one of my great friends, Landis Wiedner. Landis and her good friend, Eric Pedersen recorded a fitting tribute of Melissa Etheridge’s “Drive”, which incidentally name-checks several cities where Jimmy called home. It’s backed by a gorgeous guitar figure I’ve been referring to as “Figure” written and performed by Eric. Enjoy and I’ll catch you soon.

Sincerely,
Faiz Razi
