about

Brothers and Sisters,

Friday the 13th is Independents Day, pass it on.
To celebrate the first Independents Day, this Friday the 13th we are releasing today’s benefit single by the hardest working horror-punk band in history, the Independents. They’ve toured nonstop for over 22 years, they’ve literally put a million miles on their gear trailer, and they put the fun back in funeral. RIYL Ramones, Misfits, Halloween (the holiday) and Friday the 13th (Independents Day).

30 minute set? 18 songs straight, no stopping, in 27 minutes. Tight and fabulous punk rock. Evil and Willy B are the singer and guitarist, respectively, and the band usually has a couple of auxiliary weirdos with names like "Bones". I’ve known Evil and Willy B for decades through my bandmate John Goodwin, who is Evil’s cousin. I've seen them do pyro in the fireside (scary). plus, through them, I managed to be regularly quoted by Joey Ramone.

“Alive” b/w “Girl Like You” is today’s one-two punch from the Independents, and kicks off the first national Independents Day. Enjoy!
Evil and Willy B were going to be interviewed tonight on Live From the Barrage, in conjunction with the release of The Best of LFTB vol. 2, but it also happens to be the coldest day in NYC this year, so we’ve rescheduled it for Friday, March 13th, which is also Independents Day. Pass it on.

The LFTB dudes are still in full support of the Brothers and Sisters benefit, so it pleases us to include the second volume of their best of as today’s bonus.
Once again, lovingly curated and edited by Tree Voigt, with a special intro from Mr. King. Take it was’, LFTB. We’ll see you soon.

Sincerely,
Faiz Razi
