about

Brothers and Sisters,

Is your refrigerator running? No, that’s just the new single by Tourism and SNWV.

Today’s single, “Black Coffee” b/w “SNCHK” (21:12) is an ambient collaboration out-of-time by Tourism and Maurice Rickard, aka SNWV. As next week is the last week of releases for Brothers and Sisters (although the fundraising will continue on indefinitely), we’re almost done unveiling all of the (21:12) pieces meant for simultaneous play. This is number six of seven, and is meant as ambience and texture for the piece as a whole.

Every time I’ve added another of these 21:12 pieces in its correct place, I’ve been testing them summed on my stereo, and every time another layer is added to this cacophonous composition. Tourism’s “Black Coffee” is the second half of our set at Metropolis bolstered by SNWV’s soundcheck with Walking Shadow at the Observatory.

It hums and rumbles and does a pretty mean impersonation of a refrigerator.

Stay cool!

Sincerely,
Faiz Razi
